Why FLAC for release day?
FLAC is compressed like a ZIP but plays everywhere stores and streamers need it: mathematically identical to your WAV master at roughly half the size. MP3 320 is the accepted fallback when a platform won't take FLAC — transparent to most ears, but it discards information forever. Ship FLAC where possible.
